<idPurp>Certain landslides can trigger a debris flow, these are referred to as "trigger sources". The Designated Sediment Source Areas, related to PFA prescriptions, are typically located high in the headwalls of the PFA-designated Debris Flow Traversal Area Subbasins. Trigger Sources are delineated to identify those Designated Sediment Source Areas with the greatest expected sensitivity to tree removal so that needed yarding corridors can be placed through less sensitive zones.</idPurp>
<idAbs>&lt;DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Hillslope areas are ranked by the potential for initiation of a landslide that triggers debris flows to fish streams that originate from within each Designated Sediment Source Area&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;. The zones containing the most susceptible fifth (20%) of these initiation sites are referred to as &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Trigger Sources. &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;</idAbs>
